He began his career at Target stores, first repairing desktop computers, then building application servers, and finally teaching himself how to be an IBM Mainframe Security Administrator. He then became a Network Security Engineer at PeopleSoft, where he was in charge of developing and securing their corporate applications and networks. This experience led to an offer from Cisco to join as a Systems Engineer to work as a Security Specialist with the largest high-tech companies in Silicon Valley. He has never looked back since his first opportunity to lead, and he has continued to grow and develop his technical leadership career at a number of technology companies.

He has a passion for mentoring other young technology professionals, especially young Latinos early in their careers.  He still lives in the Bay Area with his wife and family and loves to run and hike in the beautiful east bay hills.  He is a huge sports fan and loves his Oakland Raiders, Oakland A’s, Golden State Warriors, San Jose Earthquakes, and European football teams FC Barcelona and Liverpool.

As a proud Bolivian American, he never forgets where he came from and he and his family are regular volunteers at the Alameda County and 2nd Harvest Food Banks in the Bay Area.
