He has a degree in International Business from San Francisco State University and has held several technical certifications throughout his career including CCIE, CISSP and AWS Cloud Practitioner.

Arnie was born in La Paz Bolivia and came to San Francisco, California with his family when he was a young child.  He went to high school in Union City, CA and then attended San Francisco State University on partial scholarship and working 2 part time jobs.  He was always very curious, hardworking and eager to learn.

He started his career at Target stores, first repairing desktop computers, then moved into building application servers and then taught himself how to be a security administrator for IBM Mainframe Systems.  He then moved to a Network Security Engineer position at PeopleSoft and was responsible for building and securing their corporate Applications and Networks.  This experience led to an offer from Cisco to join as a Systems Engineer to work with the biggest high-tech companies in Silicon Valley as a Security Specialist.  Very soon, he discovered he loved to mentor and develop others and was promoted into a leadership position.  He never looked back from this first opportunity to lead and has continued to grow and develop his technical leadership career at several tech companies in the Valley.

He has a passion for mentoring other young technology professionals, especially young Latinos early in their careers.   He still lives in the Bay Area with his wife and family and loves to run and hike in the beautiful east bay hills.  He is a huge sports fan and loves his Oakland Raiders (yes, he still calls them Oakland ), Oakland A’s, Golden State Warriors, San Jose Earthquakes, and European football teams FC Barcelona and Liverpool.

As a proud Bolivian-American, he never forgets where he came from and he and his family are regular volunteers at the Alameda County and 2nd Harvest Food Banks in the Bay Area.
