Dr. Pablo Paredes Romero: A Journey of Entrepreneurial Excellence and Academic Leadership

We are excited to welcome our newest SVL Executive Cultura Ambassador, Dr. Pablo Paredes Romero.

Pablo's journey is a tapestry woven with intentionality, entrepreneurship, and an abiding commitment to empowering others. After decades in private sector business, he began his career’s second act, within the vibrant academic community of California State University-Stanislaus at the College of Business of Administration as an adjunct lecturer. Following the COVID-19 pandemic and successfully defending his dissertation (a study based in the Central Valley), he was appointed Faculty Fellow of The Warrior Entrepreneurship and Innovation Initiative. This role mirrors his passion for cultivating ingenuity.

With his expansion into Silicon Valley in 2022, Dr. Paredes Romero now serves as a Visiting Professor in the College of Business Administration at Menlo College in Atherton, CA, where he shares his experience and expertise in Organizational Behavior, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Marketing, International Business, and Management. He serves as faculty advisor of The Entrepreneurship & Innovation and People Operations Group student organizations. He will help pre-venture entrepreneurs explore the prospect of small business ownership by joining the team at the Silicon Valley SBDC at San José State University this month.

Beyond academia, Dr. Paredes Romero is a certified career professional in corporate People Operations, Human Resources, and Organizational Behavior/Development spaces. As a consultant and professional coach, he lends his expertise to small Latinx businesses across the Central Valley, Bay Area, and South Florida. His mission is to uplift entrepreneurs, small business owners, and high-achieving individuals, strategically partnering with them toward achieving success. His multifaceted background as a Latino small business owner (founder and principal of both Aliado Consulting and his new venture, Conceptual Continuum) adds a unique flavor to his teachings, rooted in the rich experiences of growing up in Puerto Rico, himself being of Ecuadorian descent, and having lived, worked, and grown in some of the eminent hubs of Latino entrepreneurship: NY/NJ, Miami, Los Angeles, and Houston.

With over 25 years of dedicated service in the field, Dr. Paredes Romero is a seasoned professional, bringing a wealth of experience to the forefront. His journey traverses diverse industries, from Intermodal Transportation & Freight to Retail Distribution, Recruitment & Staffing, Ornamental Horticulture, Home Improvement Remodeling, Light and Heavy Industry, Supermarkets, and Direct Marketing. His strategic HR acumen has allowed him to serve organizations on both the East and West Coasts impactfully.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Dr. Paredes Romero currently serves on the board of directors at the Stanislaus Latino Chamber of Commerce, where he contributes to advancing local businesses. His commitment to leadership extends beyond the boardroom, evident in his role as a professionally trained, ICF-certified coach. Whether partnering with graduate students, high-achieving executives, or small business owners, he specializes in unlocking the potential within individuals and groups. As the host of the “Entrepreneurship & Innovation Studio” podcast at Stanislaus State University, he helps to highlight the stories of people and their journeys in enterprise in that growing region.

A First-Gen college student, Dr. Paredes Romero’s academic journey is one of passion and persistence, which drove him to achievement and to eventually hold a BSc in Communications (Public Relations) from Florida International University in Miami, a MSc in Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, and a Ph.D. in Leadership and Education from Barry University in Miami Shores. Each chapter of his narrative reflects a dedication to knowledge, leadership, and the unwavering belief in the power of individuals to shape their destinies and lift up their communities.
