Pepe has been involved with Diversity and Inclusion Leadership roles for over 10 years and has been President of Society of Latinos (SOL) at Sun Microsystems, Chair of Hispanic Oracle Leadership Association (HOLA) and founder of Bay Area Latino Network (an organization dedicated to help the leadership of Hispanic ERGs in Silicon Valley to Learn, Inspire and Network with like minded professionals). He is also a long time member of HITEC (Hispanic IT Executive Council). He has also been selected, on three different occasions, as one of the most influential Hispanics in IT. Pepe's passion for Inclusion developed more than 15 years ago and provides him with the opportunity to give back, mentor and coach many great IT professionals who happen to be Hispanic. Pepe has been invited to speak and participate on numerous panels around Diversity and Inclusion with various companies and organizations.
Pepe grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico where he attended university (ITESO) and obtained a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Information Technology. Additionally, he has taken many business and computer science courses throughout his career at some of the most influential and recognized companies in the industry. He graduated as part of the first cohort from the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley’s Latino Board Leadership Academy. He also became an Ambassador and member of the Board of Advisors for The First Tee Silicon Valley.
