Meet Ryan Lopez, a dedicated senior majoring in Politics at the University of San Francisco. With a passion for advocacy and risk management, Ryan has been a driving force in supporting youth empowerment and mental health initiatives.

Ryan Lopez is a dedicated senior majoring in Politics at the University of San Francisco, where he has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, earning a place on the Dean’s List for all eight semesters. His passion for leadership and community advocacy is evident through his involvement in various organizations. As a Youth Advisory Group Member at ALLCOVE Half Moon Bay, Ryan plays a key role in shaping the development of a local Allcove center, ensuring that youth voices are represented in mental health initiatives. Additionally, he is an active member of the Latine Undergrad Network of Activists Advocates (LUNA) and serves as a Youth Commissioner on the San Mateo County Behavioral Health Commission, working to support and improve mental health resources for young people in his community.

Ryan’s career aspirations lie in the field of risk management, particularly within the nonprofit and academic sectors. He is eager to begin his journey as an insurance underwriter, where he can apply his knowledge and leadership experience to help organizations mitigate risks and operate more effectively. His commitment to this field is reflected in his professional experiences, including his role as a Student Assistant to the Risk Manager at USFCA. Additionally, as a Youth Ambassador and founding member of Ayudando Latinos A Soñar (ALAS), Ryan oversees the Sueño Scholars Program and serves as a youth liaison, further strengthening his leadership and mentorship skills. His dedication to the field of risk management was recently recognized when he was awarded the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA) Student Scholarship, allowing him to attend their 2024 conference in New Orleans.

With a strong foundation in leadership, advocacy, and risk management, Ryan is eager to continue making a meaningful impact in his community and beyond.
