Raices - Creo En Ti Summit

It is with great enthusiasm that we, Silicon Valley Latino and Santa Clara University, invite you to participate in our inaugural "Raices - Creo En Ti Summit" on Nov 9th at Santa Clara University. Silicon Valley Latino is excited to partner with Santa Clara University and to offer this unique opportunity to not only inspire our youth but truly empower them in a high touch/high impact manner.

We would also like to thank and acknowledge SCU's Latinx Student Union for their vision and leadership in co-creating Raices: Creo En Ti and for the critical role they play in engaging local high school students.

The Raices - Creo En Ti Summit is a one-day “College and Career Development and Empowerment” conference designed to engage numerous Latino professionals, associations and employee resource groups to spend a day with high school and college students, sharing career insights and collaborating on empowerment activities ranging from panel discussions, mock interviews, speed mentoring and an awards ceremony.

Summit Objective: To offer an exceptional experience to our youth That Goes Beyond Listening To Inspirational Speeches. We will certainly feature numerous Latino leaders that will inspire our youth, however, we will also offer numerous tangible and meaningful takeaways for our youth throughout our summit.

Our Approach

This one of a kind summit will feature Latino leaders from various industries and will be focused on a high touch/high impact student outreach approach.

Mentor Match

We are equally excited to launch our Mentor-Match initiative. Through it, we will invite college students to describe their ideal professional mentor and in turn, we will match them to a professional that best fits their interests. During the summit, we will hold a mentor reveal segment where students walk-away with a mentor at the conclusion of the day.

Speed Mentoring

In addition, we will also offer both high school and college students an opportunity to participate in our first ever Speed Mentoring event. This will give students an opportunity to practice their elevator pitch while meeting several professionals and learning about various professions as well as possibly walking away with a new contact.

Hands-On Coding Workshop

The 3rd walk-away will be a Hands-On Coding session. Through this session, high school students will be given an opportunity to learn how easy and fun coding can be using Lego robots. Our goal is to increase exposure to STEM-related activities in an interactive, fun and low-pressure environment.

Numerous Professional Panels

We will hold several industry-specific panels discussions allowing our students an opportunity to learn about various fields (tech, finance, healthcare, etc.). Students will also have the opportunity to engage with the panelists through our Q & A and Meet & Greet segments.

Awards Presentations

We are also delighted to once again present our Latino Trailblazer Awards to those leaders that have path a way for others to follow. As part of our mission to rebrand the Latino community one positive story at a time, we will also be presenting Emerging Leader Awards to individuals that positively impact our community and often do not receive the proper recognition or acknowledgment.

We look forward to talking with you about how we may best engage you and your organization as one of our key partners.

In collaborative spirit,
