VIDA’s Avanza RGV Program Earns National Recognition

This past week brought inspiring story from Texas. The Valley Initiative for Development and Advancement (VIDA) has been named a 2025 Examples of Excelencia finalist for its innovative Avanza RGV: Accelerating Latino Prosperity Through Education & Career Pathways program.

VIDA’s mission is clear and impactful: to empower Latino students in the Rio Grande Valley through wraparound support that includes skills training, academic counseling, financial assistance, and direct job placement opportunities. By addressing the barriers that often limit access to higher education and career success, VIDA is transforming lives and communities.

Excelencia in Education, the nation’s premier authority on Latino student success, recognized Avanza RGV for its proven results in closing equity gaps and creating meaningful career pathways for Latino students. This recognition affirms what we at Silicon Valley Latino know to be true: when our community invests in education, we invest in a brighter and more prosperous future for all.

At SVL, we celebrate VIDA’s leadership and impact as an example of the power of culturally responsive programs that uplift, empower, and accelerate Latino prosperity.
