SANTA ROSA, CA – August 20, 2022 – Mexican American Vintners Association’s (MAVA) 10th Annual La Cosecha Grand Tasting returns in-person to northern California where the Reynoso Family Vineyards will be hosting the festival at Sugarloaf Wine Company in Santa Rosa on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

This wine festival is set to bring 14 Mexican American vintners together where they will not only share their exquisite wines with over 200 wine enthusiasts but tell their stories on how they ultimately became winery owners. Guests can expect Mexican delicacies by Oaxacan Chef Angel Perez, live entertainment, and a silent auction. The silent auction will serve as a fundraiser which will continue to provide MAVA with the funds to promote its members.

Since its founding, MAVA has worked hard to uplift the Latino community through numerous ways. Its members have strived to raise awareness of world class Mexican American produced wines while advocating quality standards to its members and providing educational sponsorships to Latina/Latino youth. Additionally, MAVA has worked hard to highlight the sacrifices as well as the contributions that farmworkers have made to the wine industry. Lastly, it has strived to support future generations of aspiring Mexican American winemakers and winery professionals.

For the first time in his career artist Ricardo Soltero, a Nayarit native, will be showcasing his catrinas in Northern California during the 10th Annual La Cosecha Grand Tasting. His pieces have adorned and colored an array of cultural exhibits, fundraisers as well as transformed ballrooms into magical environments with his paper mâché, recycled materials, wood and styrofoam sculpted works.

Portraying their love and passion for Latin music, DonGato Latin Band will be performing at this year’s annual La Cosecha Grand Tasting. They will be performing a mixture of sophisticated Latin music, Cuban Son, Salsa, and Smooth Latin Jazz with a dash of a tropical feel.

El Ballet Folklorico IRERI “Dulce Sonrisa” who strives to maintain the Mexican culture and tradition alive in the United States will be performing an array of bailes folkloricos from various Mexican regions. This Ballet is composed of 45 students who work hard to keep their roots alive as first, second, and third generations in the United States.
