Latino Family Fund event & FUNdraiser!

In 2006, twelve families pooled their money to establish a donor-advised fund with Gilroy Foundation, the Latino Family Fund de Gilroy. A grassroots organization that began with a handful of members, has grown to over 100 members.
The Youth In Philanthropy (YIP) program is the cornerstone of the organization. It allows them to reach middle school-age students at the right time to help them find their purpose while providing grants to nonprofits they select. The program is implemented in all the middle schools in Gilroy, with hopes of expanding to surrounding communities. The students are chosen by their school counselors and guided by mentors from the community. The students are given the skills to become leaders, the confidence to succeed, and the tools to take them to the next level.
To grow their membership and increase visibility in the community, they will be providing more networking mixers and partnering with businesses and similar nonprofits. They will be holding their annual Tequila Tasting Fundraiser on Friday, May 6th, 2022 at Fortino Winery located in Gilroy.
The evening will include tasting fine tequilas, dinner, Mariachi, silent/live auction, art show, and dancing. Proceeds from the event will benefit the local middle schools’ Youth in Philanthropy and Grants program as well as their newly established scholarship fund.
