Introducing Gladis: A Remarkable Leader and Genuine Professional

We here at Silicon Valley Latino are excited to present our newest SVL Cultura Ambassador, Gladis Covarrubias, a seasoned professional with a unique blend of project management skills, human resource expertise, and a knack for business leadership. She's not just about ticking off tasks; she has a proven ability to bring teams together, boost productivity, and create an atmosphere where everyone feels engaged and valued. In the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced environment, Gladis thrives, managing her time effectively while effortlessly juggling multiple responsibilities.

Born and raised in the town of Morgan Hill, CA, Gladis is the daughter of hardworking Mexican immigrants. Her parents, a farm-worker father and a mother running a daycare business, instilled in her a strong work ethic from a young age. Despite facing a heartbreaking family tragedy—the sudden loss of her younger brother—Gladis found strength and support in her older brother. Soccer became her refuge, shaping her into a leader both on and off the field, eventually leading her to play for the Women's San Jose State Soccer team.

Driven by resilience and an unwavering desire to make her parents proud, Gladis set ambitious goals, becoming the first in her family to graduate from college and later earning an MBA. Her professional journey began at Target, where she embraced roles such as Guest Experience Manager, Human Resource Manager, and Store Manager, laying the foundation for her robust leadership skills. Today, at Adobe, Gladis serves as a Human Resource Manager, leading a team of 8 generalists. She takes genuine pleasure in supporting her team's growth and championing process optimizations.

Beyond the office, Gladis is an active member of Adobe's HOLA ERG (Employee Resource Group), contributing her time to plan various events for Hispanic Heritage month. But she's more than just her career—Gladis is an avid world traveler who loves immersing herself in diverse cultures. During her downtime, you might find her in the garden, lost in a good book, or pursuing her passion for interior design. Staying active is crucial for her, but nothing beats the joy of sharing moments with family and friends.

Gladis' journey, from a small town in California to her thriving career at Adobe, is a story of resilience, leadership, and continuous personal and professional growth. As a genuine and inspiring leader, she leaves an indelible mark on everyone lucky enough to work alongside her and this is why we have welcomed her as a #SVLLatinaLeader and part of the #SVLTriBU
