Karina Deras - SVL Cultura Ambassador

  Karina Deras is a third generation born and raised San Franciscan.  She acquired her Bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and a minor in Mexican American Studies. Karina developed a strong passion for business while attaining her degree from San Jose State University.  She started out believing she was interested in Marketing but fell into a position in Human Resources where she found her true passion, to help people.  She was fortunate enough to land an HR position in a rapidly growing tech company in the heart of Silicon Valley.   Karina is also co-founder of SJSU’s Latino Alumni Network where they partnered with the SJSU Alumni Association. With her help the network was created in order to keep Alumni and students connected for networking purposes. They continue working to establish an annual scholarship for students.
